2022 “I am the wolf in my garden” is something I would say while
walking our dog Benjamin, the self appointed overseer of the
woods around us.

“Watch Your Chickens” and “I am the Wolf in my Garden”
Deer, Wolves, Foxes, Rabbits. Deer within Deer. Animals
gathered together, unified for safety, looking behind the trees.
Huddled together. Messy.

It’s good therapy to walk without destination. with animals.
-2017 and on. Chalk therapy. Drawing. A temporary and messy
way to react to anger. Instead of drawing people, draw a vague myth.

A person is always just a person, but a collection of animals
can be a myth. So draw that. Why not. Pitch the wolf against the deer.
The dangers of wolves.
They may be heroes in another myth.
In another Culture. They may be Hope.
Who the hero is changes,
wolf or deer. draw that.

This drawing is about bodily autonomy.

and then it became very cold, so I left the studio garage, for the living room computer
to explore the same themes. revisiting imagery and trying some of the same things with adobe.
on occasion wearing a jacket, grabbing some chalk and going back in the studio in the
unseasonably warm madness that is our weather now, and then.

Using adobe/procreate and AI to explore sculptural/installation ideas and make notes for future works
